Dan McClure |  Principal

Dan has over 20 years experience as an executive in the capital markets and has executive experience in media. 

He has held key leadership positions in investment management, including Head of Research at I.G. Investment Management, a $100B+ asset manager, and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of alternative asset manager, CQI Capital Management.  As a portfolio manager, Dan was a steward of $3B+ focused on growth equity opportunities across a breadth of industries in private and public assets.    

In addition to being a Principal at Blue Deer, he is the Executive Chairman of Trivirtus Capital, a private commercial real estate company, and a Director of MCT, a premium content LA based, film finance entity.  Prior to Blue Deer, he was the President of Bron Media.

Dan began his professional career in technology and investment banking and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business, and an Electrical Engineering degree from Queen’s University.

Brad Trotter  |  Principal

Brad has 30 years of commercial real estate, financial services, and capital markets experience in leadership roles, spanning restructurings, turn-arounds, global expansions, M&A, joint venture and organic growth strategies.

Most recently, Brad served as Global Head of Debt at Timbercreek Asset Management and expanded the platform to the U.S. and Ireland.  Prior to Timbercreek, Mr. Trotter spent over 26 years in leadership roles at General Electric. At GE Capital Real Estate he served as President of North America, managing a $22B portfolio of private direct debt, equity and JV investments across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Prior to leading the North American platform, he served as GE Capital Real Estate’s Managing Director of Canada ($5B) and was the European CFO ($20B, 18 countries). 

Brad holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, Canada.

Cyrus Zahedi  |  Director

Cyrus has nearly 20 years of experience across private client wealth management, corporate banking and structured credit origination. 

He has worked for Cidel Asset Management, HSBC Bank, CIBC World Markets, National Australia Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, and NewstarFinancial.

He holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation, studied business administration at Boston University and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School  of Business.

Brad White  |  Advisor

Brad has over 20 years of experience as a portfolio manager with a focus on alternative investments including public equities, hedge funds, private equity and venture capital.  Brad was a Co-founder of EdgeHill Partners, a $800mm+ alternative asset manager launched in 2010.  Previously he was a Co-founder of Salida Capital, a $1bln+ alternative asset manager where over 8 years as portfolio manager his funds recorded 30% compounded returns until his departure to start EdgeHill in 2010. 

In addition to being a Principal at Blue Deer, he is a Director of Orca Gold (TSXV:ORG) and Synaptive Medical.  Prior to fund management, Brad worked as an energy analyst at Morgan Stanley, TD Securities, and BMO Nesbitt Burns compiling over 25 years of experience in capital markets. He is the Founder and benefactor of the Embley Park Foundation, a private philanthropic organization. 

Brad holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a CFA designation.
